Pipthorn spent the golden morning in Leafmarket trading shiny pebbles, then hid from the owl's shadow.

Origin
Pipthorn swaps pretty pebbles at Leafmarket with a wink that never quite reaches the truth. Owls are the one trade Pipthorn refuses, since a single hoot sends the collector diving under the nearest stone. Pipthorn dreams of seeing the world, one shiny rock at a time, from the far side of the hills.
