Maldale, the tiny moss creature, spent her sunny Rootcellar day fishing for dewdrops and dodging every suspicious cloud.

Origin

Maldale brags in rhyme about the giant fish pulled from the cellar pond, even though the pond holds nothing but one sulking tadpole. Each time the first raindrop falls, Maldale dives beneath the nearest toadstool and pretends to be busy. Maldale dreams of sailing across a great ocean in a leaf boat, shouting rhymes at every whale along the way.
